The scales are down 3 lbs this morning, goody goody. Most people lose at least 5 lbs on the 5 day Reset Program and it looks like I am right on schedule.
Yesterday was a little rough. I wasn’t ever hungry, but I just felt kind of out of sorts. I think it is my body adjusting to the balanced diet. At any rate, I am feeling on top of the world today. Energy and a clear mind - wonderful.
For my vegetable yesterday, I had a little Chicken Almond Subgum Chinese food. It is 95 percent vegetables and very low glycemic. An apple, a snack bar and 3 Nutrimeal shakes completed my days food intake. This is a program that really fits my busy lifestyle, no cooking required. You will find out as you continue to read my journal, that I do not cook much anymore.
Today is Halloween. I usually do not have a problem with sweets and candy ( my devil is pasta, breads, potatoes, chips, etc ), so I don’t expect to have a problem handing candy out to the little tikes Trick or Treating. I will have a shake just before the first kids arrive; having a full stomach will help me resist. For my vegetable today, I am having steamed broccoli, which I love.

Well I finally got back on the scales today and it was not pretty. What have I done? ? ? At the beginning of this year, I lost 52 lbs and now, in just 5 months, I have put back on 20 lbs. I told myself 5 months ago that I was going to spend a couple of months “maintaining” to let my body adjust to the weight loss before I continue on to my goal of losing 200 lbs. Well I am not maintaining very well. Looks like I am gaining about a pound a week. It is so easy to fall back into that old lifestyle of unhealthy eating.
Here is a picture of me as I am today, hopefully I will be posting a “leaner” picture in a few months.
OK, so it’s decision time. Back to my program, back to Usana. It’s time to RESET my life again. So today I am starting my 5 day RESET to get my system back into order and to lose the carb cravings. I have been here before and I know that the first few days are kind of rough, my body is still calling for the bread, candy and chips. But I know that in just 5 days, I will feel so much better and will have lost the first 5 to 10 lbs. Maybe writing this blog will help me this time. To be able to express what I am going through. I really hope that my experience will help someone else make the “Decision” to be lean and healthy.
Today I am going to have 3 Nutrameal Shakes, 2 snack bars, 1 apple, a salad and of course try to drink at least 6 glasses of water. I know that they all say 8 glasses, but I am just not able to get that much down. One day at a time, that is how healthy habits are formed.
